Games

When there is not much for you to play with, it doesn't really stop your imagination. You just have to be a little more creative. Whether it is filling a small plastic container with dirt, rolling a wheel, playing a metal tube with a bolt or kicking a ball you have made out of trash and string. These children find joy in every corner!

This confirms that play is a universal part of childhood. Toys are extra!!

Reminds me of (back in the dark ages) when I was a child, we had some toys, but I loved making roads in the dirt with my cousin (a boy) using half-bricks or small blocks of discarded 2x4 as trucks & bulldozers. Lots of fun!!! and still remembered!

And who else remembers red light, tag, hide & seek and red rover....all fun without toys. Anny Over.....or is that Annie?... required only a ball & a house or some building you could try to throw the ball over.

Oh, here's an obscure one....two teams, one approached the opposing team, saying..."bum, bum, bum, here we come"
team 2 replied, "where're you from?"
team 1:"pretty girls station"
team 2, "what's your occupation?"
team 1, "most any old thing."
team 2, "well, get to work then."
team 1 mimed actions of something like mopping and team 2 tried to guess what they were doing.

I had a VERY sophisticated childhood, can you tell :)

love,
mom
